Archive Year 2006
December
- 1600GT engine gets a first coat of Ford Red paint. The first alloy is ready for priming and inner wing bodywork repair commences. (06/12/2006)
November
- More Front bodywork, offside wing and front valance now taped up together to see what it all looks like. Also, more cleaning of engine parts continue on the 1600GT. (22/11/2006)
- New Parts Washer is purchased and already many 1600GT engine parts have been degreased. (15/11/2006)
- The front bodywork was the order of this weekend. Offside wing placed in-situ with good old tape and the bonnet saw it getting attacked with an angle grinder. Also, the front valance had a tidy up. Check out the updates for more on this. (15/11/2006)
- Fitted the Lokar Firewall mount gearbox dipstick today, looking good and now so easy to fill up the gearbox. Also, worked on the brakes today, trying to sort out some of the leaks. (05/11/2006)
- Stopped sulking now!! Regardless of the front ride height I'm going to press on. When all the bodywork is complete I will then decide if the springs need to be lowered. Two options: 1) cut and re-tempered at Gaz or 2) new lowered springs (again), well at least I now have the spring rates correct. (04/11/2006)
October
- Still sulking!!! (31/10/2006)
- Managed to fit the new shocks and springs. The car sits too high now so I'm off to sulk and work on my GT. (16/10/2006)
- Custom made springs and shocks arrived from Gaz. Time only permitted me to install one side and strip the other ready for installation. (09/10/2006)
September
- Having some problems trying to sort out my front suspension. In the end I have ordered new adjustable shocks and 350lb custom made springs from Gaz Shocks. They should arrive in 2/3 weeks time. Hopefully this should sort out the ride height and the weight of the engine!! (11/09/2006)
